Description:
This country house is a modest hotel, cosily nestled in the softly undulating hills around Assisi, the town of Saint Francis. You might not want to stay here if you crave for nightlife and all it contains just "around the corner" of your accommodation. But in case you want to combine some nightlife, a lot of sightseeing and many delicious lunches and dinners from a basis of peace and quiet without having to drive for long, then this is perhaps the place for you. The view is one of such that remains in your memory for ever: as if the town of Assisi has been pasted against the hilly surroundings just across your hotel, just for your benefit. From above the olive trees, you can enjoy a sight from which you could never tire. This hotel, which once was a big gentleman’s farm, has been completely rebuilt and enjoys all modern comforts, a swimming pool included. There is a small bar, a communal lounge which has been very tastefully furnished with an open fire place and from which you reach, via some little steps, a terrace with tables and chairs and, from there, to yet a lower terrace with again nice garden furniture. The restoring has been done with all due respects to the ancient building stipulations; you will still find terracotta tiling, wooden beams on the ceilings, cast-iron objects and ceramic applications.

You can start or end your days with a refreshing dive in the big swimming pool. There is a very special garden with a rather large variety of medicinal plants, kitchen herbs and quite a lot of ancient-old trees. All the rooms are furnished in Tuscan style, meaning a lot of terracotta, cast-iron beds, absolutely beautiful curtains and bedspreads and no further nonsense.
The hotel has a small, 14th century church plus a watchtower, and a very modern elevator. The direction has required us to state that they can provide very ample parking space.

A lounge furnished in classic style with an open fire place, restaurant for breakfast only, small bar, 2 terraces, large swimming pool (19 x 9 m, depth 1.10 –1.60), park, WiFi, satellite tv, parking, elevator, telephone, air conditioning.

Lay-out:
21 rooms in the country house itself, and 5 rooms for more than 2 persons in some other buildings around. Some rooms have a balcony, providing a lovely view. The rooms are not that spacious, but very stylishly furnished and have air conditioning, television and telephone. All bathrooms with shower and hair dryer.

Possibilities for sports/excursions:
Riding at 12 km, golf course at 20 km, tennis courts at 5 km. Moreover, if you like walking you can enjoy yourself to the utmost. You can take walks, following the tracks of Saint Francis, who walked enormous distances. And do not think that, for him, a walk of 20 km. a day was enough; he took distances in his stride of which the average, modern sportsman can be jealous and more often than not satisfied himself with the sky for a blanket and a flat stone for a pillow for many a night in the open air.
